Our Story

The inspiration for La Cantina began nearly 90 years ago thanks to the vision of our founders, Amo and Rose Scotese. When Rose was invited to cook for her neighbor’s friends, the guests quickly discovered that her food was a delicacy, and her neighbor convinced her to open a restaurant.

From the sauce to the bread, customers loved all the homemade food, and the business just grew and grew. Over the years, they mastered fine recipes, which evolved from decades of European family tradition and a commitment to perfection.

Soon after, La Cantina began baking pizzas, becoming one of the first establishments in the area to offer them. These pizzas were so popular that they would freeze and ship them to hungry customers throughout the entire country.

Since La Cantina’s founding, we’ve continued this tradition of excellence and old world Italian food throughout every generation of family.

Like Amo and Rose, who believed in faith, hard work, and family, we are proud to carry on and share our devotion to our heritage and our restaurant. Even today, we maintain the integrity of the original recipes, and our customers agree the food tastes just as delicious as it always has.
